Google Pack

Google's got a great new thing - called Google Pack.

It's very simple - just a site that lets you download a bunch of great mostly-free applications in a package, and informs you of updates when they become available.

Package can contain:
  • Ad-Aware SE Personal
  • Adobe Reader
  • Mozilla Firefox w/ Google Toolbar
  • GalleryPlayer HD Images
  • Google Desktop
  • Google Earth
  • Google Pack Screensaver
  • Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer
  • Google Talk
  • Norton Antivirus 2005 Special Edition
  • Picasa
  • RealPlayer
  • Trillian
Of course, you can check which ones you want installed and which ones you don't - in my case, I already heard of and had all the ones I wanted, and simply installed Google Updater to keep them fresh.

I'm a little disappointed with their choice to include RealPlayer and an Antivirus trial, and probably that GalleryPlayer thing, whatever that is... and I installed Firefox through Updater but definitely got rid of the Google Toolbar... but still, I think it's a great starter pack for anyone using Windows.
